Introduction to the major religions of the world, including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.
There are a variety of academic methods to study religion. Common methods include critical literary and historical approaches, which are often supplemented by anthropological, psychological and sociological ones. This course is an introduction to the critical study of religion through literary and historical lenses. An in-the-field experience is also proposed, for which guidelines from cultural anthropology will be provided.
